About this course
Basics of Occupational Safety and Health outlines the basic principles, concepts, and frameworks of occupational health and safety in the workplace, covering various types of industries in both government and private establishments. It discusses the hazards that can be encountered in the workplace and the intervention strategies—including prevention and control measures—that can be implemented.
Under Republic Act No. 11058, the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Law, both government agencies and private establishments require mandatory training to ensure a safe and legally compliant workplace. Workers have the right to know these basic principles to safeguard their health, and employers are responsible for providing OSH programs.
