About this course
An introductory microcredential course on “Clinical Bioethics and End-of-life Care in the Philippines” that equips health care professionals with the ethical principles and practical bioethical and communication skills needed to navigate difficult clinical decisions concerning end-of-life care.
The course is composed of mini-modules covering the foundational bioethical principles as applied to end-of-life clinical scenarios, advance care planning, shared decision-making, practical ethics and communication skills, and the Philippine and Asian cultural perspective. It ends with a reflective summary or a mini-capstone project from the learner.

- Compare and contrast the different bioethical approaches as they relate to end-of-life planning.
- Analyze ethno-cultural nuances in the Philippine and Asian field of clinical bioethics in advance care planning.
- Formulate ethically justified clinical decisions in end-of-life care scenarios.
- Integrate shared decision-making principles in end-of-life care scenarios.
- Reflect on and evaluate one’s personal values and beliefs and their influence on ethical judgment and decision-making in end-of-life care.
